Lets talk body shaming. If you are someone who doesn't accept certain body types, I suggest you get off of this page really quick. So. I want to start off by saying everyone, man or woman, is beautiful. Yes. YOU are beautiful. I don't care if you are an XS or an XXL. Guess what? If you are a kind person who loves and cares about other people then you're beautiful. I do not for the life of me understand the hatred of 'plus size' and 'twig-thin' body types. Everyone was made differently for a reason. The world would be so boring if there wasn't differentiation in body types.. Think about it. Diversity has been embraced and the standards for beauty have become so much larger. Beautiful men and women of all races. size, and shape have been embraced and are among the most accomplished in history. Megan Trainor, Jennifer Lawrence, and Zendaya are all accomplished strong women. They all have embraced their bodies and refused to meet the demands of society for an 'ideal body type'. That isn't to say they don't also advocate for healthy lifestyles, which is a fact many people miss. BODY SHAMING. Yes, I made it bold. Why? It is a serious issue. Listen closely... If you are not a doctor you have no right to give your opinion on someone's weight. Weight for some people is a medical issue. Many diseases can cause weight gain or inability to gain weight.. So, before you look at that person in Walmart or at the beach and think "God they should lay off the McDonald's" DONT. You do not know their story. Stop looking at that girl at school who probably wears a size 0 and think "She needs to eat a burger". YOU DO NOT KNOW HER STORY. Take a moment to think about your biggest insecurity. Would you want people all over the world bullying you and thousands of other people for that exact same insecurity? I really hope not. If that doesn't make you think then think about if it was your daughter or son who was getting bullied. What if your child struggled with their weight every day? What if you had to stay in the hospital countless nights because your child struggled with anorexia for so long that they almost died? What if you had to listen to your roommate in college who hates their body go into the bathroom when you got home from eating and puke their brains out every night? What if that person everyone calls fat at school hates their life so much that they commit suicide? Don't think your words are harmless. Words cut deep. Body shaming is not a joke.
